Asbestos disposal

Asbestos the silent killer. Responsible for the deaths of around 5000 workers a year, it causes significant damage to the lungs and is responsible for numerous conditions such as Mesothelioma, Lung Cancer and Asbestosis.

There are six different types of asbestos:

  • Chrysotile
  • Amosite
  • Crocidolite
  • Tremolite
  • Anthophyllite
  • Actinolite

One of the reasons asbestos is so deadly is because firstly asbestos fibres are so small they cannot be seen by the naked eye. You have no idea if you have inhaled one of the dangerous fibres. Secondly, asbestos damages the lungs over time which means that many people had been affected by its deadly fibres before asbestos was identified as a carcinogen.

Asbestos can be found in any home/building that was built or renovated before the year 2000. If you’re worried about asbestos in your home or workplace, you can view this image gallery from the Health and Safety Executive showing common places asbestos is found. If you suspect asbestos is present in your home or place of work, DO NOT attempt to remove it yourself. You could agitate the material and inhale the deadly cancer causing fibres.

Don’t risk your health and those around you. Please contact a professional asbestos removal service to safely remove the harmful material from your home or workplace.

Contaminated soils

Waste producers are legally responsible for the safe disposal of their hazardous waste, including the testing and safe disposal of contaminated soils. As a business you have a duty of care regarding the waste you produce.

Soil is classified as hazardous if it has the potential to harm human health or harm the environment. Hazardous waste does not necessarily mean that it is an immediate risk to health, but for certain waste it is.

Don’t run the risk; hire a reputable company to test your soils and handle the safe disposal of any contaminated soils.
