The Brief

Our client negotiated this contract for the works to the former Notcutts Garden Centre, which was vacated and demolished to make way for a new retail development. Works carried out included demolition and clearance of the existing live services including HV mains and transformer and levelling the site (producing 25,000 m³ of muck away). The new project incorporated a new Waitrose store plus another retail unit, car parking and soft landscaping. AWS managed the fit-out of the new Waitrose Store.

The Solution

Contract Value - £8.9mill

Duration – 56 Weeks

  • Assisted with site set up and formulating site waste management plan.
  • Full segregation on site for all construction and hazardous wastes. AWS also provided a specialist pallet collect service thus neutralising waste costs.
  • Logistical space allowed the use of larger waste containers, thus reducing CO2 emissions for waste movements.
  • Advised and reported for BREEAM & CCS accreditation, with full post completion report.

With a very difficult contract with restricted access/out of hour works/minimal storage space the AWS team worked extremely closely with our site team removing waste from site and it was very much hassle free via both phone and online!
